Proverbs 1:20- Wisdom crieth without; she uttereth her voice in the streets: She crieth in the chief place of concourse, on the opening of the gates: in the city she uttereth her words, saying, How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? and the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge?
We live in an all wise God's world. Therefore, wisdom abounds. We cannot escape it, for it is all around us. It is outside the city gates, at the gates, and inside the city as well. It is now that we have a choice; either to incline our ear to that which is spoken or to ignore it. Simple here means to be foolish. The question is how long will the foolish remain foolish? I tend to think one would as long as they continue to love foolishness. I find as one gets older the easier it becomes to put away foolish things. Paul would say when I became a man I put the things of a child to the side. The scorner too will keep on scorning as long as he delights in it. Knowledge the fool hates but loves foolishness. So what shall we do then? Following God is the answer. The more we follow, the more he will take what we once delighted in and make it repulsive to us. He works on us. He changes us when we allow it. Let him in this day my friends and take delight in the things of God.
