From 1st Samuel 14
God blesses Israel to be victorious in a battle. King Saul puts forth his own decree that if any man eat until the evening, they would be cursed. His son Johnathan does not hear the command and eats some honey and then proceeds to tell the people that they would have been better off if they had eaten. Later that day, on an empty stomach, they go to battle and are again victorious. Now starving, they eat the animals with their blood, which was against God's law (Lev 3:17). Lesson: May each man take heed to what they impose on those they have authority over. It may lead to them transgressing one of God's commandments.
