Proverbs 1:28-30- Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me: For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD: They would none of my counsel: they despised all my reproof.
We know that Christ has promised never to leave us nor forsake us. We also know that he gives us ample time to repent and turn to him. However, in the Proverbs here, wisdom is speaking, and it seems like this is applicable to individual situations. For we know that it is never too late to start reading the word of God to search out his wisdom. However, we can do such damage to our lives, by the time we receive this knowledge the damage may have already been down and now it's too late to reverse it. Therefore, it's too little, too late. The time for calling on wisdom and finding it has passed. Now, we must choose the fear of the LORD this day. IF we do, we just may avoid some terrible situations in which it's too late to reverse the outcome. We have all probably done something in our past where this rings true. The hope then is that we would learn from it, and seek the Lord while he may be found.
