Proverbs 3:25- Be not afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it cometh.
We know that God has not given us the spirit of fear, yet from time to time things happen where fear suddenly pops up. Maybe it's a near accident on the road or a wild animal runs in front of you on a hike. Fear may suddenly happen and we are told to not be afraid of it when it does. On the other hand, where we could get into trouble is when we are constantly afraid. This may lead to isolation and poor decision making.
We are also told to not be afraid of the destruction of the wicked. Sometimes we seem to forget that there are wicked folks out there, enemies of God. When they be destroyed, it's ok. Don't be afraid of that. It's a good thing. Some of the culture today seems to lament when justice is done to the wicked. We should be pleased when justice is done. The verse says that this desolation is coming. Sometimes we may not see it while on Earth but when Christ comes back we will. When the just arise to be with Christ in glory, the wicked will receive their complete desolation being cast into the lake of fire. Be not afraid of this either brethren, for we will have on the righteousness of Christ and enter into eternal glory. God is good.
In Christ,
