Security

Proverbs 3:29- Devise not evil against thy neighbour, seeing he dwelleth securely by thee.

The question of who is my neighbour was onced asked to Jesus. His reply was those who would have compassion on one another. It is true that we ought not to do evil to those who live close by. It would be foolish to make enemies of those who live across the street. If we are friendly with our neighbours, they can be a great benefit. They watch out for the kids in the neighborhood, they watch out for our homes, they look out for crime, ect.... This is a great security that one would have if they do good to those around them.

Yet this expands to even more than that. It expands to other people that we come into contact with. If we see someone who needs help and proceed to help them, that person instantly becomes our neighbour and he ours. What a wonderful system God has set up. He does not place bounds on who we ought to help. This grants security to God's children as they walk this Earth and that security is given to us as well. For we never know when we will come upon hard times and need the help of a stranger.

In Christ,
