Refrain thy Foot
Refrain thy Foot

Refrain thy Foot

Proverbs 1:11-16- If they say, Come with us, let us lay wait for blood, let us lurk privily for the innocent without cause: Let us swallow them up alive as the grave; and whole, as those that go down into the pit: We shall find all precious substance, we shall fill our houses with spoil: Cast in thy lot among us; let us all have one purse: My son, walk not thou in the way with them; refrain thy foot from they path: For their feet run to evil, and make haste to shed blood.

Referring to the sinners found in the tenth verse, we are given more information on their intentions to have God's children go astray. We find that it is not for companionship nor community, it is simply to increase that which they steal. They encourage to combine that which was stolen, so one giant purse would be formed. This should not surprise us, for we know the love of money is the root of all evil. This mindset causes the innocent to suffer, blood to be shed, and evil to be spread abroad. We then must avoid such wickedness. Walk in another direction. Follow feet that run to peace rather than feet that run to evil. Then we pray. We pray for our loved ones, family, friends, and church that they do not find themselves in the way of those that wish to destroy them. For their is a great evil out in the world but we can fight it with our prayers. We must have faith that God has the ability still to protect and deliver. We must not think that God owes us this great protection but rather have faith that he is able to provide it.

Romans 9:32- Wherefore? Because they sought it not by faith, but as it is were by the works of the law. For they stumbled at that stumblingstone;
