Proverbs 1:32- For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them.
The word "turning" here means ease. We see that the relaxation of the people will lead to their demise. May I say we should never be satisfied? We should always be striving to do better. This mainly applies to our spiritual lives and our walk with Christ. May we never say, I am right where I need to be with Chist. I will assure you that we are not. We are to strive to be more Christ-like and this is a lifetime pursuit. May we never be like the Holy City. Their prosperity had gotten the best of them and they became at ease in Zion. This too could lead to our downfall. There is money all around us. There is comfort all around us and yes with consistent effort, we can get our fill. Becoming filled and laying on the couch, the enemy will know it's time to strike and take what we have, both physical and spiritual. So then, may we continue on, pressing toward the high calling in Christ Jesus. Always abounding in the things of the Lord.
