Law, Judgment, and Preservation
Law, Judgment, and Preservation

Law, Judgment, and Preservation

Proverbs 2:8- He keepeth the paths of judgment, and preserveth the way of his saints.

We must be thankful that God sets both a standard for righteousness and judgment. Both of these he keeps, or holds firm. Meaning these do not change. The paths of judgment that God has set up, do not change. The moral law is good, we still hold to it today. Those things of moral living that God handed down in the Old Testament, still stand. The ceremonial part of that law has been done away with. So then when it comes to the question, what is right and wrong?, we are not left twisting in the wind. We find the answer in God's word.

The word saint in this verse is referring to those living holy. Those that live holy, their life is preserved. They are preserved because God holds onto his paths of judgment. God judges both good and evil works. If one is declared to be a saint, this means that the majority of their living is righteous living. There is a preserving power in being obedient. Great blessings come with leading a holy life. God preserves this way of living, whereas a lifestyle of disobedience he does not. I am thankful then, for God's law, his judgment, and his preservation.
