1st Samuel 30:19- And there was nothing lacking to them, neither small nor great, neither sons nor daughters, neither spoil, nor any thing that they had taken to them: David recovered all.
We see here that after the Amalekites took David's family and possession; as well as his armies, that he would recover that which was his. He did not just recover a portion, he recovered all that was taken; he recovered all which was lost.
Christ too would do the same. For his elect were lost, fallen, and out of the way. Thanks be to God that he sent his Son to recover that which had been taken; that which had been lost. He would not just save some but all of his elect. All that Satan had corrupted, Christ would make pure. Only Christ could do this for he is the only one that is pure and he was the only one who knew who the elect were, for he was with the Father when he chose them before the foundation of the world. The thought of David leaving those women and children to fend for themselves, to break loose from the Amalekites; they most certainly would have lost. The same thought is discouraging, if it were up to us to save ourselves. We need Christ. I need Christ.
John 6:39- And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.
John 10:28- And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
John 18:9- That the saying might be fulfilled, which he spake, of them which thou gavest me have I lost none.
In Christ
