Proverbs 1:17- Surely in vain the net is spread in the sight of any bird.

Make no mistake, there is something sure about those that would lead us to do evil. It's in vanity they spread their nets. Those contraptions that they would use to trap us are as nothingness, if seen. They may be disguised so well that at times we would be tricked and voluntarily run into them. Be not deceived brethren. Put the Lord's word out in front of you so this downfall does not occur. We are to note that the net is spread. It takes up a large portion of ground, for Satan's ways of deceiving God's children are vast. Yes, the net is only cast in vain if the bird see it. "In the sight of any bird". If we do not have sight of the net, we too can be caught up. If you do have sight, then we'll see next time that the damage comes to the caster.
