John 6:27- Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give you: for him hath God the Father sealed.

This verse is spoken by Jesus, and it is directed to a crowd that had followed him because they ate of the miracle of the loaves and fishes. In a rebuke, Jesus tells them, this is the only reason you have followed me; stop labouring for food and labor for something that lasts. As you know we all need to eat, however, Jesus has declared that if we follow after him, God will always take care of that (Matthew 6:25). Thus bringing us to the next point, to labour after the things that never end. Jesus never ends! Our lives, in him, never end. Therefore, we should spend more time trying to feed the spirit, rather than feeding our flesh. These spiritual things that truly satisfy, are then told that they are given us by Christ. Spiritual things are not something the natural man can obtain on their own. Only through and by him can you feel the things of the Spirit. Jesus is fit to give us these things because he is sealed by the Father. He is approved by him (Matthew 3:17). May we all spend the rest of the week, pressing into these spiritual matters, that truly satisfy.
